Do you do free solar quotes?
Not for solar. Every other job we quote free, but a solar quote means a proper system design, and that takes real time to get right. So we start with a Solar Assessment at $230 including GST: we measure your roof and the space available, work out the best location, orientation and layout, flag any shading or install considerations, and give you recommendations for your property and your power use. The quote comes out of that, and it is an accurate one rather than a guess.
Is solar actually worth it on my roof?
Depends on your roof, your shading and how you use power. We'll look at all three and give you straight numbers on what you'd save and when it pays off. If it's not worth it for your place, we'll tell you that too.
The honest short answer is that solar pays back fastest for high users. If your power bill is big, the sums work. If it is small, the system has less to save you, and that is worth knowing before you spend rather than after.

Will I still have power at night or in a blackout?
Standard grid-tied systems draw from the grid at night and shut off during blackouts for safety. If you want power during outages, you'll need a battery. We can spec battery-ready wiring during the initial install so it's cheaper to add later.
Do you do the whole job, or just the electrical bit?
The whole job. Panels, mounting, inverter, board integration, safety cert, grid connection paperwork. One crew, one point of contact, one quote.
Can I add solar to a system I've already got?
Usually yes. We check what's already there, the age of your board, and the inverter capacity, then quote the extension. Sometimes the existing setup needs a tweak first, which we'll flag before we start.
