Meet Holly & Josh

Southcombe Electrical is a family-run electrical business based right here in Whanganui. Josh has been on the tools since the day he left high school, working his way up through the trade. In 2020, in the middle of the COVID lockdowns when most businesses were shutting up shop, Josh took the leap and started Southcombe.

What started as one sparky and a van has grown into a proper team of qualified electricians and apprentices. Josh runs the crew on the tools, Holly runs the office, and the boys handle the jobs across Whanganui every day. Same crew on every job, same care, every time.

Southcombe is a teaching company. That means we invest in apprentices and back young, motivated people to build proper careers in the electrical trade. By mentoring the next generation of sparkies, we're helping build a stronger future for the industry and for our community.

Today the crew handles everything from a single powerpoint to full home rewires, heat pump installs, switchboards, solar, EV chargers and emergency call-outs. If it's electrical, we've done it before. That's how we've built 124+ five-star Google reviews and become the most reviewed sparky in Whanganui.

We're local, we love what we do, and we're here to help Whanganui feel safe in their homes. Honest advice, dependable service, and long-term relationships with the people we work for. That's what Southcombe is built on.
